Photographing models is my current hobby. I love it.

Tools of my trade are a Panasonic GX1, a Fuji GW670II, and a Nikon D70s. I've had occasion to borrow and use friend's Canon 7D, a Nikon D7000(fantastic camera!!!), and a Nikon D100.

This past weekend was the one year mark for the massive 9.0 that struck Japan. I remember on the day of the earthquake I had been released early from work and was at home on talking to my girlfriend on Skype. I hadn't even changed out of uniform yet when suddenly I felt the beginnings of the quake. We get them very frequently in Northern Japan, so, it didn't strike me as anything out of the ordinary. In a fit of impulsiveness this week I went a little hog wild with my paycheck and picked up a bunch of new camera gear. What kicked off this fit of impulse buying? Well, mostly this, the Soho Gallery's Krappy Kamera Competition. (Found here at http://sohophoto.com/krappy_kamera_comp.html ) Part of the rules set for this epic contest is that you can use a modern camera for the contest if you have a "Krappy" lens. So, I figured, why not? I have a D70s which should probably technically be counted as a Krappy Kamera considering how abused it is and how poorly it is working right now, so why not get some krappy lenses and make a go of it?
